Why does Xero reject a BOCHK CSV that looks fine in Excel?
The first rows are usually account summaries, not headers. Xero reads those as columns and fails. We locate the real header row and import only transaction lines.
Do you remove BOCHK total and balance rows?
Yes. Footer totals, running 餘額 lines used as data, and “合計” rows are filtered so they do not land as fake transactions in Xero.
Can I import several years of BOCHK history?
Yes, as long as each file is under 5MB. Split large ranges by month or quarter, clean each export, then import in date order.
Does this work only for HKD accounts?
