Does my financial file leave my computer?
No. BankCSV Pro processes your uploaded financial file in your browser. The financial file itself is not uploaded to our application backend.
What bank files can I use?
BankCSV Pro is designed for CSV and Excel bank exports, with a focus on Hong Kong formats. Because banks use different layouts, the Verification Dashboard shows how your file was detected, mapped, cleaned, and validated before you download it.
Can I use BankCSV Pro for historical transactions?
Yes. You can use it to prepare historical bank exports for Xero, QuickBooks, Excel, or Debit/Credit CSV. This can be useful when your connected bank feed does not contain all the history you need.
Why should I check the file before importing?
Bank exports can contain different date formats, debit/credit columns, extra balance rows, multiple currencies, or other formatting differences. BankCSV Pro shows the detected mappings, warnings, exclusions, and transformations before you download the result.
Why is there a 5MB file limit?
BankCSV Pro processes financial files directly in your browser. The current 5MB limit helps keep processing responsive while supporting typical bank statement exports.
Why can't I download without a subscription?
You can preview and review your conversion before paying. An active subscription is required to download the converted file and conversion report.
Can I use Xero and QuickBooks?
Yes. BankCSV Pro provides dedicated output formats for Xero and QuickBooks, plus a generic Debit/Credit CSV and a cleaned Excel workbook.
What if my bank isn't supported?
BankCSV Pro focuses on Hong Kong bank and payment exports, but banks use many different file layouts. Even when a bank is not specifically listed, a compatible CSV or Excel export may still work through the generic parser. The Verification Dashboard shows how the file was interpreted.
Do I need to install software or create an account?
No. BankCSV Pro runs in your browser and does not require browser extensions or an account to preview your conversion.
How do I restore my subscription?
Use the billing email address associated with your subscription to request a verification code. Your Stripe Checkout session ID can also be used as a secondary recovery method.
Why shouldn't I open my CSV in Excel before uploading?
Opening and saving a CSV directly in Excel can convert large numbers into scientific notation, drop leading zeros, or corrupt Chinese characters. For best results, upload the raw, untouched export from your bank or payment app.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime through the Stripe Customer Portal. Click the "Billing" or "Manage Billing" button in the navigation bar, or use the "Manage or cancel here" link in the green subscription notice. Your access remains active until the end of your current billing period. We do not offer partial refunds for unused days, but you can continue downloading until your subscription expires.
